Save the date! On March 2, 2016, I am hosting an event at Label at the newly christened AvidXchange Music Factory to raise funds for my campaign while promoting awareness about early voting and the March 15 primary. Your attendance is important to my campaign, and vital to the entire city of Charlotte. Get your tickets here now.
This event will be held in two parts.
At 6PM, the Legacy Reception will gather our VIP guests in Label's Ivory Lounge to socialize, listen to a special musical guest, learn about my role in the General Assembly, and listen to the vision my Democratic colleagues in Raleigh and I share for our districts and our state.
Following the VIP reception, Label's main room will be open to receive all guests, and the party will get started. The evening will feature several musical performances from local jazz-funk artists Groove 8, South African hip hop artist Razzi Razz - who, incidentally, is my son - his colleague DJ Vino, and others. Woven throughout these musical performances will be speakers testifying to the importance of early voting, sharing their own political experiences, energizing guests about their opportunity to create change that they desire by participating in the political process.

As so many you know, voter turnout in Charlotte is a constant work in progress. We want to see a significant increase in participation in every part of the city this March, and the only way to achieve this is to raise awareness and create real excitement. The citizens of Charlotte need to be reminded the sort of impact that politicians at the local and state levels can make in their daily lives, and every speaker appearing at the Kick Off will be emphasizing this message.
Supporting and attending this event demonstrates your faith in your local representatives and gives us all a chance to change the political landscape in Charlotte. Guests have the opportunity to buy general admission tickets, VIP tickets, or to sponsor the event at a higher level. All sponsors will be acknowledged by name and in literature at the event. Help your city empower its citizens to create the change we need in Charlotte and our great state of North Carolina.
